Lucknow, Jan 7: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of misusing the Central Bureau of Information (CBI) for political gains and said she is not scared of such "low grade" politics.
Ms Mayawati, in a statement here, said that raids were being conducted by CBI in an old illegal mining case and Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav was being threatened to get probed in the case. This was a conspiracy hatched by the BJP which should be foiled, she said. The BSP president alleged that BJP has a history of "low grade" politics and the public understands this and would give a befitting reply in the Lok Sabha elections.
Ms Mayawati claimed that BJP was worried by the reports of a possible alliance between the BSP and the SP to fight the parliamentary elections this summer. Both the BSP and SP leaders had talks on Sunday and during the meeting she suggested him to counter the plan with confidence.
She said that public understands that the party misuses government machinery for political gains. Several BJP leaders were acquitted in several criminal cases during its regime.
Ms Mayawati alleged that earlier when she had denied to give 60 to 80 seats to BJP, then she was embroiled in the Taj corridor case illegally. (UNI)
