Agency News

Lucknow, Sep 30: The unprovoked killing of tech executive by a policeman in the Uttar Pradesh state capital has united political fraternity, as BJP law maker Rajani Tiwari has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath requesting him to take action against District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Lucknow for not being sensitive towards the plight of the victim’s family.

“The behavior of the officials of local administration is highly deplorable. The local police told media that accused have been arrested but later the main accused cop reached police station and demanded that FIR should be lodged against the executive who tried to kill him. This shows the insensitive face of the administration,” Tiwari said in her one page letter which she had faxed to the CM’s office here on Sunday.

The opposition parties too have been demanding action against the district officials saying the police is trying to water down the case by filling a supple FIR against the accused.

Vivek Tiwari, a technical executive of Apple was shot dead when he was going to drop his female colleague on late Friday night. The killing has raised a hue and cry. The police claimed that the two accused cops have been terminated from the service and have been arrested.

Talking to this reporter the ruling party law maker said that she was moved by the plight of the family members. “I saw the statement of the daughter of the deceased where she said that District Magistrate was asking her to say particular thing. This is not the way to handle this sensitive case,” Tiwari, who is law maker from Shahabad constituency in Hardoi said.

“I feel that behaviour of the district administration was partisan towards the accused. I feel the conduct of district officials was an aim to malign the image of the government. I being one of the 403 elected members of the State Vidhan Sabha, I feel myself as the part of the government and such a behaviour of the officials has hurt me the most,” Tiwari said.

She said that she will talk to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally on Monday.

Meanwhile the 2 police constables involved in the gruesome murder of the tech -- Prashant Kumar and Sandeep Kumar have been sacked from the UP police on Sunday.

Both are lodged in the jail after a case of murder charges has been registered against them. (UNI)
