Agartala, June 9 : Tripura recorded its first Covid-19 death on Tuesday. The patient was a 48-year-old man from the bordering Chandpur village of West Tripura. According to reports, the deceased did not have any travel history but his son returned from Bangalore. On arrival, he tested Covid negative.
Three days after, his father suffered from cardiovascular attack and hypertension on May 1 and shifted to Agartala Govt Medical College.
As mandatory practice, in the hospital his swab was tested which turned out to be positive. The state government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh to his family. Tripura has registered as many as 844 Covid positive cases, out of 648 persons are active. (UNI)
