Ambassa(Tripura), Jun 7: With the detection of four more COVID-19 cases in the district, the active cases rose to 35 whereas the total tally soared to 198 in the northern Tripura district of Dhalai here, sources said on Sunday. The continuous surge in COVID-19 positive cases in the returnees and their close contacts seemed to be unstoppable at the moment. On Saturday, a total 103 positive cases were reported in the state among which four cases were found to be in the district, they said.
Three returnees from Salema, Baghmara and Ganganagar and one BSF personnel from 82 Miles were reported to be positive. It raised the active cases to 35 and the total number of COVID positive cases jumped to 198, they stated. All of the freshly infected persons were taken to the COVID treatment centre at Agartala Government Medical College and Hospital (AGMC).
The district administration however beefed up its machinery to the highest level to make people conscious and aware in this regard, the sources added. (UNI)
