Tripura records 107 positive cases in single day

Agartala, Jun 2 : Tripura has recorded the highest single day spike of Covid-19 positive cases at 107 last night, which increased the number of active patients to 250 out of 423 confirmed cases. However, there is no death yet and all the affected persons are having either travel history or getting in direct contact with the infected people.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb reasserted that Tripura has no instance of community transmission of Covid-19 yet and the administration has been put on highest alert. Moreover, all levels of elected representatives from urban to rural were mobilised to ensure cent per cent home quarantine for home comers and their family members.

“The administration has become vigilant about the movement of people and residents of the particular localities are also asked to cooperate with the returnees as per the standard protocol,” Deb said adding that the people whoever is coming to the state mainly from hotspots have been tested and step was taken to test everyone comes from outside.

He underlined that there is no dearth of treatment facilities in the state and the government has been working to treat the patients as well as to contain further spread of the infection.He said though the number of fresh cases is increasing, the government is fully prepared with necessary infrastructure to deal with the situation. The chief minister also urged the people not to panic but stay extra cautious. (UNI)
