Agartala, May 15 : Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura holding the charge of Finance Jishnu Dev Varma has lauded the innovative thought and measures of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to manage the post-Covid economy of India and self-reliance initiatives. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the financial package of Rs 20 lakh crore to make India self-reliant, the detailed layout of the package was given by the finance minister that made the opposition speechless, as they did not have any scope of cheap politics with the people in distress.
“We also believe the spirit of the PM – India will become ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) if villages achieve self-reliance. The opposition parties had been talking about providing economic reliefs – however, the package announced is twice that demanded,” Dev Varma stated. The package aims at encouraging local production, creating markets, and ensuring marketing of locally produced goods instead of imported stuff. This will help all the states to boost the economy.
When the income of rural people will increase, it would enhance the total volume of the economy of the state, and economic activities like trading and consumption of locally produced goods would expand in manifolds. He said, agriculture and animal husbandry have big roles in the economy of Tripura and the state government has been working to boost both the sectors. Besides, support to MSMEs under the central government package would help in augmenting GDP growth and also create 11.10 crore job opportunities in the country. (UNI)
