Indo-Bangla ties reach new height: Tripura CM

Agartala, Dec 29: When diplomatic relation of India and Bangladesh has become a strain after enactment of Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb felt relationship of people in both the countries is spearheading to a new height under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina.

Addressing a gathering here last evening in the annual festival of a local leading television channel News Vanguard, Chief Minister said with the blessings of the dynamic leadership of two countries, northeast in general and Tripura, in particular, emerged as strategic trade destination of South-East Asian region.

The people of Bangladesh feel the warmth of Tripura because of language, culture, food habit and traditional affinities till the date and it has been increasing in a positive direction every day, Deb pointed out adding that there is no scope of misunderstanding among the people of both the countries.

He said Tripura would soon be turned into the economic corridor of Northeast and Sabroom, the southernmost part Tripura is set to be transformed into a 'business hub' once the bridge over River Feni will be operational by next couple of months.

The Feni Bridge would emerge as a corridor for trade and commerce between the Northeastern states andBangladesh, as it will connect Tripura with the Chittagong seaport.(UNI)
