Minor boy tortured, police fail to act on complaint

Agency News

Ambassa,Tripura, Oct 23 :  In an inhuman brutal incident a minor boy was tortured brutally on the false allegation of mobile theft at which police remained reluctant and the ChildLine authority penultimately stepped measure in Dhalai district here.

The incident took place on October 13, last. A boy Indba Khan (15) was taken into custody by two neighbouring persons identified as Bajuddin Kaji and Babaruddin Kaji from the same village of Methirmia and tied him with a rope, beat him brutally and pricked needles into his nails.

All the torture was executed as the duo thought Indba stole a mobile. Getting the information his father Rasiduddin Khan rescued the boy and took home.
On October 15, a complaint was lodged with local Kamalpur police station. But mysteriously police not only remained reluctant on the issue but not though it was necessary to enquire into the matter.

At last some neighbour rang up in 1908 and informed the matter. The ChildLine authority Karuna Deb today rushed to the house of Indba and collected all the necessary data.

The reluctance of police as well as the tendency of taking up law into hands created concern for rank and file.
