Agartala, Aug 29 : As part of the launching of the most ambitious mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Fit India Movement today, Tripura Chief Minister urged everyone from all walks of life to widely support and participate in the
initiative to build fit and healthy India.
He said several innovative missions have been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and floated numerous ideas to make a better India and Fit India is one of them but unique in nature. Besides, ensuring basic requirements of human life – food, shelter and clothes for all, Modi led government has been working relentlessly to provide decent livelihood, healthcare, education and digital connectivity to everyone.
A number of effective healthcare programs have been launched by Modi-led government along with strengthening health infrastructure and institutional healthcare facilities. However, preventive healthcare initiative is better than curative option to become healthy and keep India fit for it’s progress and growth, Deb added.
Meanwhile, Tripura University has joined the Prime Minister’s mission this morning. Hundreds of students, scholars and faculty members led by Vice Chancellor Prof V L Dharurkar walked 10,000 steps in the campus followed by serious of program including watching the live address of Prime Minister Modi.
“Fit India Movement has well meaning for the academic institution and the efforts are undertaken for the well being of the students, teachers and others to achieve physical fitness, mental strength and emotional equanimity. Today’s program has passed on the message of fitness to all and we shall further strengthen the institutional framework for sportsmanship,” said Prof Dharurkar. (UNI)
