IPFT delegation meets Munda and Jitendra Singh

Agartala, Aug 29 : A delegation of Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), the partner of BJP-IPFT government in Tripura has met Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda to press for their five points demand including separate Tipraland for the tribals.
The party seemed to become desperate to pursue the core demand of Tipraland to retain their vote bank ahead of upcoming ADC elections scheduled in early next
year. The team led by Forest and Tribal Welfare Minister of Tripura and IPFT General Secretary Mevar Kumar Jamatia called upon MoS to PMO and DoNER Minister
Dr Jitendra Singh.

Besides, separate Tipraland, they also asked to publish the report of the High-Level Modality Committee was constituted as per alliance agreement with BJP before assembly election, VI Schedule amendment bill, inclusion of Kokborok language in VIII schedule and Special Recruitment Drive in Autonomous District Council areas. Jamatia however, claimed that Dr Singh has assured that all of their demands would be taken forward for further discussion.

Earlier, on July 14 last, 10 -member delegation led by the party president Narendra Chandra Debbarma met with Home Minister Amit Shah and Singh as well on the same demands. (UNI)
