Agartala, Aug 26 : To facilitate passport related service to the people of Northern parts of Tripura, Ministry of External Affairs has opened Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) at Dharmanagar – the town shares a border with Assam in northern parts of the state.
The Loksabha Member of Parliament (MP) Rebati Tripura yesterday inaugurated the PSK and said the long pending demand of the people of the three northern districts of Tripura has been ended with the opening of the service.
The Regional Passport Centre at Agartala has been opened in 2015 to speed up the issuance of passport, which had been in Kolkata for past many years even then the sufferings of the passport aspirants of North and South Tripura people was not minimized.
Most of the people from the North and Western parts of Tripura have been going to Middle East countries for skilled labourers. He said development works have been gaining pace due to a positive vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The welfare schemes undertaken by Modi government have been implementing in the state successfully despite several odds but the situation will be improved further from next financial year when fund as per the recommendation of XV Finance Commission started flowing.
“In one and a half years rule of BJP in Tripura has broken down the anti-development mindset and negativity. The state has witnessed a remarkable change in governance and transparency in the system. A new horizon of development and economic growth have been initiated, which soon will start bearing fruit but the participation of each and everyone with a positive mind is important now,” Tripura pointed out.(UNI)
