Ambassa (Tripura), Aug 01: Hundreds of e-rickshaw pullers urged the state government to provide them six more months to legalize their vehicles through registration as they expressed to the media fraternity in Dhalai district here today.
After the verdict of the Tripura High court, the state government banned the plying of the e-rickshaws on the streets as the e-rickshaws not possessed any registration and insurance. But the problems as the drivers revealed remained that, maximum of the e-rickshaws bought three to four years ago got no document from the dealers and most of the dealers of that period either changed their business or left it. Now, if the government does not ensure any simpler method than those rickshaws could never be able to get registration.
What steps the state government would adopt remained the matter to be seen. (UNI)
