Ramesh Bais sworn in Tripura Governor

Agartala, Jul 29: The Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Sanjoy Karol today administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Governor Ramesh Bais in a ceremonial function here at Darbar hall of historical Pushpabanta palace (Old Raj Bhawan).

The former union minister of Atal Bihari Vajpayee government, 72-yrs old Ramesh Bais has taken oath as 18th Governor of Tripura. While Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb along with his entire cabinet and most of the ruling party MLAs was present, leader of the opposition Manik Sarkar and all other 15 opposition MLAs boycotted the swearing-in ceremony.

According to officials, all 60-MLAs of the state, all other important dignitaries including bureaucrats and other stakeholders have attended the function and met with the governor afterwards in brief interaction. The Chief Minister Deb has introduced all of his ministers, MLAs, important media personalities and government functionaries to governor. (UNI)
