Manik lashed out at BJP’s rule in Tripura

Agency News

Agartala, Jul 18 : The leader of the opposition and former chief minister of
Tripura Manik Sarkar lashed out at the ruling BJP for allegedly triggering terror
to prevent opposition parties in fighting three tier panchayat election and captured about 86 percent seats without contest.

Sarkar alleged that Tripura has turned to a laboratory of killing democracy under BJP-IPFT rule. They had captured power in Tripura last year by whatsoever means. Subsequently BJP won both the Loksabha seats of the state but still they seem to be betraying a bizarre lack of self-confidence and not allowing elections to panchayats, he observed.

He added that BJP in Tripura is now attacking people and have forced many people to leave the state. Sarkar asserted that the CPI (M) and other opposition parties will not leave the field but keep on struggling for the rights of the people.“The CPI (M) will expose the actual face and ugly activities of BJP,” Sarkar asserted adding that the economy of the state has collapsed, peace has been destroyed, all constitutional bodies have been dysfunctional and citizens’ right is in jeopardy.(UNI)
