Agartala, Jun 8: The partner of BJP in Tripura government tribal based Indigenous Peoples’ Front of Tripura (IPFT), which fought against BJP in just concluded Lok Sabha election having two heavyweight ministers in Biplab Kumar Deb’s cabinet ruled out the possibility of their disassociation with the ruling coalition.
The IPFT president and Revenue Minister of the state N C Debbaram , general secretary and Tribal Welfare Minister Mevar Kr Jamatia told media here that they will remain with Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA), which has significance in the regional politics.
Both the leaders said that IPFT and BJP have been persuading their individual political agenda in their respective forum but when it comes for the government decision the only point of development and inclusive growth have been considered. The BJP and IPFT joined hand before last year’s assembly election based on common agenda without hampering the party's interest.
They stated that rumours have been deliberately spread about IPFT gradually melting and its MLAs joining the BJP, which are absolutely false, and these are being circulated by a vested interest group to weaken the party but this will have no impact. Those spreading canards about IPFT had no support base in the hilly areas of the state and the rumours being spread by them about IPFT were motivated and people would realize the truth very soon, they claimed.
