Agartala, May 15 : Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb condemned the attack on a road show of BJP chief Amit Shah in Kolkata yesterday.
In a statement Deb said, “I strongly condemn the attack on BJP president and appeal the Election Commission to take strong note of these incidences and take immediate strictest actions to save the democracy.”
According to Deb, all the values of democracy are torn apart in West Bengal and the fall of TMC and Mamata Banerjee is inevitable. The violence and hooliganism of TMC goons during the massive road-show of Shah in Kolkata was a blot on democratic ethos.
“It displays the fear of loss in Mamata Banerjee and her party as they witness the unprecedented support across Bengal for Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Deb said, adding that the kind of suppression that is being done by Mamata Banerjee, it gives confident that, now the people of Bengal will not spare her from a huge defeat.
The TMC supremo is rattled by the growing support to BJP in Bengal. Not giving permission to top BJP leaders to campaign in Bengal, killing of BJP workers were testimonies to this,” Deb mentioned in the statement. (UNI)
