Agartala, Nov 22 : The CPI (M) Tripura state committee has accused ruling BJP of continuing attack on their party offices and cadres across the state and latest attack was alleged at Dukli area of the city yesterday.
According to allegation, on Nov 20 last there was a pitch battle and subsequent attacks in a CPI (M) office at Durlavnarayan area under Sonamura subdivision tension gripped the entire subdivision and large numbers of police and security forces were deployed. At least four supporters of the both parties were injured and both parties filed FIR and counter FIR but no arrest yet.
Allegedly, during a meeting of Dukli sub divisional committee of the party yesterday, a group of youths of BJP with 50 to 60 motor cycles entered into the office and they ransacked the office with stones, bricks, glass bottles.
They also ransacked two cars belonging to deputy mayor of AMC and party's Dukli division secretary and 25 to 30 motor bikes.
During the indiscriminate attack four of their supporters also sustained injuries, said the statement adding that after 10 minutes of violence, police rushed to the spot and miscreants escaped from the spot.
CPI (M) lodged an FIR at Amtali police station and condemning the incident demanded stringent action against responsible miscreants. However, police added that situation is under control and large numbers of police and TSR jawans were deployed but no arrest is made yet. (UNI)
