Agartala, Nov 7: The council of ministers in a meeting yesterday decided the Rule of Pay (RoP) for the government employees and pensioners based on revised pay structure like 7th central pay commission (CPC) and announced to disburse the salary at revised rate from next month with arrears from October this year.
Talking on the cabinet decisions, education minister Ratan Lal Nath said that employees of all categories including fixed pay, part time and daily rated workers would get the benefit of pay hike. However, employees of autonomous district council, PSUs and autonomous bodies would be given the benefit after due recommendation from their respective management.
Before Durga puja last month, the state government had hiked the pay basics of its employees and made it at par with the central government. The minimum entry level salary will be Rs 16000 for Group D and Rs 18000 for Group C employees in the state. And the government will shoulder the additional responsibility of Rs 912 Cr annual. The benefit of the pay hike would be enjoyed by 1.13 lakh government employees, about 69000 pensioners and 27000 fixed pay and other grade employees of the state. (UNI)
