Hyderabad, May 31 : Najaf Ali Khan, Grandson of late Nawab Mir Osman Ali Ali Khan Bahadur Nizam VII, has said that the Healing Train Foundation did an exemplary service to humanity by starting ‘Covid-19 Kindness program’ after the announcement of Lockdown-4 by distributing food and other essentials to the locals irrespective of their caste, creed and gender.

Healing Train Foundation on Sunday distributed food essentials to 150 needy families in Masab Tank area as the lockdown has been extended. At the time of distribution, the volunteers are ensuring social distancing, safety and sanitation of the people. Each ration kit lasts a family of four for a week and contains a combination of basic staples such as rice, oil and pulses. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Mr Khan said, “We must leverage our resources to support the community in these testing times.

We must educate the community in various aspects like hand washing, social distancing and other measures that they must adapt to avoid contamination." Since then, it has been assisting needy people by distributing 5000 food packets to migrants and slum dwellers, 2000 ration kits to needy families who have lost out on employment in this time of crisis, 5000 masks to Police Department and daily wagers, 120 face visors to essentials suppliers and 150 Liters sanitizers.

Also, distributed food essentials to Care Homes and Orphanages. Water bottles and snacks to interstate migrants walking to homes on highways. Overall reaching 11,500 people through their Covid-19 kindness campaign, a statement here said.

Komal Swaroop, Co-founder, Healing Train Foundation said, "We saw the need and wanted to help as many as we can. This is the time every citizen should step in and show love, care and brotherhood. It’s time to give back to society and let people know that they are not fighting this alone." Other attendees at the distribution were Ashish Borkar, Fitness Consultant. Healing Train Foundation looks forward to continuing supporting the needy families affected due to pandemic, the statement added. (UNI)
