Heatwave conditions likely to prevail in Telangana in next 48 hours: Met warns

Hyderabad, May 26 : Heatwave conditions is likely to prevail at a few places in the districts of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Rajanna-Siricilla , Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Bhadradri-Kothaguem, Warangal-Urban, Warangal-Rural, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Mahabubnagar of Telangana during the next 48 hours, Meteorological Centre warned on Tuesday.

In a bulletin here, it also warned that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated pockets in South, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema on May 28 and 29. Further, it's also warned that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana on May 28, 29, 30 and in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next 48 hours.

Maximum temperatures are likely to be around 41 degree celsius to 44 degree celsius at isolated pockets in Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms is likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next five days and in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on May 27 and 29, the bulletin said.
