Heatwave conditions likely to prevail in AP, Telangana: Met warns

Hyderabad, May 23 : Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in Rayalaseema during the next four days and in Telangana for the next two days, the Meteorological Centre warned on Saturday. In a bulletin here, it also warned that heatwave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in South and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next three days.

Further it also warned that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds with speed ranging from (30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana for four days from Sunday, in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on May 25, 26, 27, in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on May 26 and 27. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms is likely to occur at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next five days, in Telangana on May 24, 25, 26 and 27, in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on May 26 and 26, the bulletin said.

Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places in Guntur and Krishna districts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Adilabad, Khammam, Medchal Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar , Nalgonda and Nizamabad in Telangana during the last 24 hours. The highest maximum temperature of 45.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Khammam in Telangana and 45.1 degree Celsius at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh during the same period , the bulletin added. (UNI)
