Hyderabad, May 19 : There is no respite from covid-19 cases in Telangana as four persons died and 42 new +ve cases were reported in the state on Tuesday. Two deaths over the past 24 hrs raised the toll to 38, state Director of Public Health Department said in its bulletin here tonight.
The coronavirus caseload stands at 1,634 with 1,011 people discharged including nine people today and active cases resting at 585. Hyderabad continued to be a concern for authorities as 34 new cases out of 42 reported added to the total tally from the Greater Hyderabad area while the remaining eight are migrant workers tested positive. The ongoing lockdown in Telangana has been extended till May 31 in line with the nationwide lockdown but all the business and government activities besides TSRTC resumed its operations from Tuesday as per the permission given by the government.
The TSRTC on Tuesday resumed services across the state barring city buses in Hyderabad, where containment zones continued, and Inter-state, which had been suspended since the covid19 lockdown on March 24. Municipal Administration and Urban Development Telangana also allows resumption of services of domestic helps in all zones including GHMC limits. (UNI)
