Hyderabad, May 6 : Much to the delight of tipplers, wine shops were opened across Telangana on Wednesday after a hiatus of 42 days due to Coronavirus lockdown. Long queues of tipplers were seen in front of liquor shops since early morning. The shops will be open from 1000 hours to 1800 hours.
Authorities have asked shop owners not to sell liquor to the people who did not maintain physical distance and are not wearing masks. The authorities have asked the wine shop owners to hike prices of cheap liquor by 11 per cent and 16 per cent for other brands. Soon after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had announced on Tuesday night after a marathon Cabinet meeting that liquor shops would be opened from today, the liquor shop owners have started making arrangements to commence their business.
