Telangana Cabinet to discuss lockdown exemptions

Hyderabad, Apr 16: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will chair the State Cabinet meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, the camp office-cum-official residence of CM here on Sunday.

The Cabinet will discuss on the measures taken to contain Coronavirus, implementation of lockdown besides other issues during the lengthy meeting. It is also expected to discuss whether to continue the lockdown strictly in the state till May 3 or to give some relaxation in certain areas after April 20 in line with the guidelines issued by the Union government. For the first time in the past one week, Telangana reported single-digit fresh Coronavirus positive cases with only six samples testing positive on Wednesday.

The state had recorded 514 positive COVID-19 cases with 18 fatalities so far. Among districts, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) reported highest 267 positive,36 in Nizamabad and 32 in Vikarabad, The Chief Minister on Wednesday made it clear that as per the Centre’s guidelines, strict lockdown would continue till April 20. Later, based on the circumstances, changes will be brought about , the CM said. Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao, while interacting with the captains of the IT industry over a video call, on Wednesday stated that the government will prepare a detailed lockdown exit plan soon and share with the industry representatives.
