Hyderabad, Apr 16: Telangana Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) has said that the units can produce/manufacture all life saving medical equipment, drugs, PPEs with seeking the consent of TSPCB up to July 15, 2020.
In a statement here on Wednesday, TSPCB said, in the wake of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak, availability of life-saving medical equipments, life-saving drugs, Personal Protective Equipments, (PPE) and gears, sanitisers and oxygen gas cylinders etc is to be ensured in the State immediately and this would require production on a large scale at the earliest.
For ensuring adequate supplies of the above-mentioned life-saving items or products in the shortest period and considering it as a topmost priority under this extraordinary health emergency, the Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB), in supersession and partial modification to all its earlier orders that allows the following units involved in production / manufacturing all lifesaving medical equipments, drugs, Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs), sanitizers without seeking Consent for Establishment / Consent for Operation/acknowledgement under the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution ) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for a period up to July 15, 2020.
However, the aforesaid one-time relaxation will be for a period up to July 15, 2020, only, and all such units shall have to mandatorily obtain consents before the end of the relaxation period as per the categorization of the industries issued by the State Board, a TSPCB statement here said on Wednesday.
