Hyderabad, Apr 9: Former Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislator Kaveti Sammaiah passed away due to prolonged illness here on Thursday.
He is 63 and survived by his wife and three sons.
Sammaiah was elected from Sirpur Assembly Constituency in Komaram Bheem district in United Andhra Pradesh in 2009 and also in by-election in 2010.
In the 2014 Assembly election, he was defeated by BSP leader Koneru Konappa. Sammaiah had later joined TRS.
In a message here, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has expressed shock over the demise of Sammaiah.
Mr Rao recalled the services rendered by Sammaiah and conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family. The Chief Minister prayed the almighty to rest the departed soul in peace. (UNI)
