Telangana lockdown: Microsoft CEO’s wife donates Rs 2 cr, Govt employees a day’s salary

Hyderabad, Mar 24: Several prominent personalities have extended their support and announced donations for the government initiatives to help the poor with supply of essential commodities during the lockdown period imposed up to March 31 to curtail spread of Coronavirus in the state.

Anupama Venugopal Nadella, wife of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announced a donation of Rs 2 crore. The donation cheque was handed over to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao by her father and former senior IAS officer KR Venugopal here on Tuesday. State Government employees and teachers have also donated a day’s basic salary.

Employees JAC leaders Karem Ravinder Reddy and Mamata handed over the cheque to the CM. They said the one-day wages of employees and teachers amounting to Rs 48 crore is given for the CM Welfare Fund. Film hero Nitin handed over a cheque for Rs 10 lakh to the CM who thanked all of them. (UNI)
