COVID-19: Telangana CM to hold emergency meeting over lockdown

Hyderabad, Mar 24: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will convene an emergency and high-level review meeting here on Tuesday afternoon in the wake of increasing positive COVID-19 cases and the ongoing state lock-down in the state.

Medical and Health, Police, revenue, Civil Supplies, Agriculture, Finance and other departments’ Principal Secretaries, Senior Officials, Chief Secretary, DGP and others will participate in the meeting to be held at Pragathi Bhavan, CMs camp officer here at 2pm.

Measures taken to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus and the situation emerged from the State lockdown will be discussed at the meeting, an official release said here. A few important decisions will be taken at the meeting.

After the meeting, the CM is likely to have a video conference with the District Collectors, SPs, and Police Commissioners. Six new Novel COVID-19 cases were reported in Telangana on Monday alone, taking the total to 33 so far.

Among the six persons tested positive, five had returned from abroad. The state government warned that it would slap charges against foreign returnees disobeying quarantine rules. (UNI)
