Hyderabad, Mar 19 : In the wake of sudden spurt in COVID-19 positive cases, Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao will hold a high-level emergency meeting on Thursday afternoon on the steps to be taken to curb the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in the state.
The meeting to be held at Pragathi Bhavan, the camp office-cum-official residence of Mr Rao,will be attended by Ministers, top officials of key departments , all District Collectors, Superintendents of Police, and police Commissioners. The Chief Minister had cautioned the people to be alert in the wake of some foreigners who came to Karimnagar from Indonesia had tested positive for COVID-19.
He said as the dreaded virus was being transmitted only from the people with travel history of visiting foreign countries, those returning from foreign countries should undergo complete medical examination. It may be noted that eight people (seven from Indonesia and one from the UK) had tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday alone taking the total number of coronavirus positive cases in Telangana to 13.
