Hyderabadi, Oct 11: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday announced that the SK Dey Life Insurance Scheme will be implemented for the staff of Gram Panchayats, with total expenditure from the government.
Mr Rao, while addressing a meeting on the 30-day special programme with officials at Pragathi Bhawan here, said under the scheme, if any staff member from the Gram Panchayat dies, Rs two Lakh insurance money would be given to the family. He said like the Rythu Bhima being implemented for the farmers, SK Dey Insurance would be implemented for the staff of the gram Panchayat .
The CM said the insurance policy is named after SK Dey who was pioneer of the Panchayat Raj institutions. The CM has instructed that with the NREGEA scheme funds in all the villages in all the houses soak pits should be constructed. The CM said with the setting up of the soak pits, garbage, and sewer will disappear and would help stopping of the spread of mosquitoes and common flies. This would further reduce the risk of contagious diseases.
He wanted people to take inspiration from Siddipet and Medak districts soak pits scheme. He has instructed the officials to release funds for the soak pits.
The CM said it is decided to implement Palle Pragathi programme three times in a year, during the months of June, September and January months, for 10 days. The CM has instructed the officials concerned to prepare guidelines for this. The CM also announced that for those who maintain cleanliness and greenery in their households, would be given the best Home award. The CM has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao to examine the building regulations, land regulation schemes in the villages.
After the Committee gives its recommendations, a decision will be take on the BRS and LRS, he said. Mr Rao directed for the identification of the boundaries of Gram Kanta and the village borders. The roads in Gram Panchayats should be registered under the Gram Panchayat’s names, he added.(UNI)
