Hyderabad, Oct 7 : Communist Party of India (Marxist) has decided to support Telangana Praja Party (TPP) Candidate Sambasiva Goud in Huzurnagar by-election scheduled to be held on October 21.
Talking to newsmen at CPI (M) state headquarters here on Monday, State Secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram said that in the wake of rejecting the nomination of its party candidate due to some technical issues, the party state secretariat has decided to support TPP candidate in the Huzurnagar by-election.
Mr Veerabhadram said that all the political parties including Congress, TRS, BJP and TDP urged CPI-M to extend its support to them. But the party state secretariat left the decision to the district committee.
As per its opinion, the State secretariat has decided to support TPP which is having good strength in the constituency. He said the party state secretariat has also decided to remove from party position its candidate Parepalli Shaker Rao and District Secretary M Ramulu. Both were party state committee members.
Mr Veerabhadram said even though the Returning Officer (RO) alerted about the errors in the nomination filed by party candidate Parepalli Shaker Rao, he and Ramulu did not responded. Hence, the party took it seriously and removed them from the party positions. (UNI)
