Hyderabad, Oct 6: The indefinite strike by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees across the state entered the second day on Sunday.
A high-level meeting on the RTC strike is scheduled to take place at Pragathi Bhavan under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao this afternoon.
RTC workers unions said they will continue the strike till their demands were met.
Telangana State Road Transport Corporation buses, the main mode of transport for the people, went off the roads on Saturday as more than 50,000 employees of the TSRTC began their indefinite strike in support of their demands.
The strike which commenced at midnight on Friday is to press for their 26 demands including merger of the TSRTC with the government and pay revision.
About 3,000 buses are confined to depots under the Greater Hyderabad region. Employees of all categories like conductors, drivers, supervisors, mechanics were participating in the trike.
The striking employees held agitations near all depots including at bus stations like Mahatma Gandhi, Jubilee Hills and Dilsukhnagar.(UNI)
