Hyderabad,Oct 3 : The Telangana government on Thursday announced new excise policy which will be effective from November 1, 2019 to October 30, 2020.
The government has issued a notification in this regard. The new liquor policy has fixed license rates based on the population: Rs.50 lakhs will be the license rate for population below 5,000 and Rs 55 lakhs for population between 5,000 and 50,000. For population between 50,000 and one lakh, the license rate will be Rs.60 lakhs and for population between one lakh and five lakhs,the license fee will be Rs 65 lakhs.
Similarly, Rs 85 lakhs will be the license fee for population between five and 20 lakhs and Rs.1.10 crore for population above 20 lakhs.
The government has fixed Rs.two lakhs fee for non-refundable application and the liquor shop owners will be chosen through lottery system.
Liquor shops will be allowed to open from 10 a m to 11 pm in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation areas, while in other areas the shops are permitted to be open till 10 pm. (UNI)
