Hyderabad, Sep 9: Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao presented over Rs.1.46 lakh crore full-fledged budget for 2019-20 financial year in the state Assembly on Monday.
The budget showed a revenue surplus of more than Rs 2,000 crore and a fiscal deficit of over Rs.24,000 crore. The budget pegged the expenditure at Rs.1.11 lakh crores, capital expenditure at more than Rs.17,000 crores and the development expenditure more Rs 70,000 crore.
Rao said the nascent had achieved credible development in all fields during the last five years.
He announced that old age pension would be introduced soon for all those who are above 57 years of age.
In February last, Rao had presented a vote-on-account budget whose period ends on September 30.
After the Chief Minister presented the budget, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who was in the chair, adjourned the House to September 14. (UNI)
