Hyderabad, Sep 3 : The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught a Senior Accountant working in Sub-Treasury Office when he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs 10,000.
Modhumpalli Mallesham, Senior Accountant, Sub-Treasury Office (STO), Vemulawada of Rajanna Sircilla district was caught in his office premises when he demanded the bribe of Rs.10,000 as a reward from the complainant Nandagiri Rahul Goud , a resident of Vettemla of Vemulawada mandal.
Mallesham accepted the bribe amount through his private agent Boddula Harish Kumar of Srivardhan Type Institute, Vemulawada "for calculating the quantum pension arrears of the complainant's grandmother, preparing the bill for Rs 56,776, and for getting the amount sanctioned and credited into her account," an ACB statement here said.
The private agent Boddula Harish Kumar was caught red-handed in his institute at about 1437 hrs and the bribe of Rs 10,000 was recovered from his possession at his instance.
The Senior Accountant and his private agent were being arrested and produced before the Spl Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Karimnagar, the statement added. (UNI)
