Hyderabad, Jul 7 : To the utter disappointment of farmers and people at large, the southwest monsoon which arrived in the last month was weak in Telangana.
Though there was isolated rain or showers, winds now and then and cloudy sky, there has hardly been any major spell of rains in the state during the last six weeks.
Reports said that the rainfall in the month of June was deficient to the tune of more than 30 per cent, while the weatherman maintains that the southwest monsoon was weak in the state.
Meanwhile, several temples in the state including the famous Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple atop the Yadagirigutta hillock performed special poojas and "yagas" to appease the rain gods.(UNI)
