Hyderabad, Mar 31: In yet another jolt to the Congress in Telangana, senior party leader P Sudhakar Reddy has resigned from the party.
He sent in his resignation letter to Party President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday expressing the former's dissatisfaction over the functioning of the state party leadership.
Mr Reddy whose term as MLC ended two days ago informed the Congress chief that real party cadre who loyally worked for the party were being ignored in the allotment of party tickets for the polls.
Mr.Reddy who is likely to meet Prime Minister Narender Modi during the course of the day may join the BJP, according to sources.
Coming hours before Mr.Gandhi's visit to the state to undertake the party's campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections , Mr Reddy's decision has come as a rude shock to the already beleaguered state unit of the Congress.
In the recent past,as many as ten MLAs had quit the party and made known their willingness to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti. (UNI)
