Hyderabad, Mar 31 : Like the prevailing sweltering heat spell in Telangana, the no-holds-barred campaigning for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections is hotting up with several national leaders set to hit the campaign trail in the coming days in the state.
Prime Minister Narender Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi are scheduled to address public meetings in different parts of the state on Monday.
Mr Modi who kick-started the BJP campaign from Mahabubnagar on Friday will address a public meeting in the sprawling LB stadium in the heart of the city and like in Mahabubnagar he is likely to take on TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during his Monday's address at the stadium.
During his whistle stop canvassing in the state, Mr Gandhi will address three public meetings at Zaheerabad, Wanaparthy and Huzurnagar, harping on his party's promise to provide Rs 72,000 to each BPL family under the Minimum Income Guarantee scheme.
Mr Gandhi who had during a recent public meeting on the outskirts of Hyderabad described TRS as the "B" team of the BJP may also target KCR.
BJP president Amit Shah and several union ministers will also campaign during the coming days.
The ruling TRS is miles ahead of others in the electioneering with the party's working President K Tarakarama Rao addressing a series of public meetings across the state since the last 20-odd days.
KCR too has been vigorously campaigning charging, during his rallies. both the Congress and the BJP for the country's ills.
Elections to the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state will be held in a single phase on April 11.
