Karimnagar, Mar 17 : Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) President and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday evening sounded the poll bugle by kick starting his campaign for the coming Lok Sabha elections from Karimnagar, which holds a special place for the TRS since its inception in 2001.
Mr Rao had earlier represented Karimnagar in Lok Sabha and also served as union minister in order to secure the support of various parties for the creation a separate Telangana.
Addressing the massive public meeting on the grounds of the Regional Sports School on the outskirts of the town, he explained to the people the dire need to elect all the 16 MPs of the TRS in the April 11 elections to enable the TRS to play a significant role in the national politics.
He said that there was an absolute need to vote out both the BJP and the Congress for the good of the country and well being of the people.
Underlining the need for forging a non-BJP and non-Congress Federal Front comprising like-minded regional parties, he said that he was constantly striving in this regard.
Mr Rao said both the BJP-led NDA and the Congress-led UPA had failed to deliver the goods and that was the reason why the TRS wanted to play a vital role to bring about a qualitative change in the national politics. UNI
