Hyderabad, Feb 21: The just expanded Telangana Cabinet, in its first maiden meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, held at Pragathi Bhavan, CMs camp office here on Thursday evening, has approved the Vote-on-account budget for the year 2019-20.
The Cabinet also approved the supplementary demands for grant for the financial year 2018-19.
Cabinet further approved the proposal for replacing the ordinance with suitable Bill to amend certain provisions of Telangana Goods and Services Tax (GST ACT 2017).
The state budget will be presented by the Chief Minister in the Assembly on the opening day of the 4-day session, on Friday.
The Cabinet is also expected to give its nod for bills seeking new panchayatraj law and amendments to the GST, to be introduced in the Assembly, according to sources.
Both the Assembly and Council will meet separately at 1130 hrs, following which the state government will present the budget.
The budget session will conclude with adoption of the Appropriation Bill on the last day, February 25.
According to sources, major allocations will be made to the irrigation department besides appropriate funds towards fulfilling some of the poll promises such as Rs one lakh farm loan waiver and Rythu Bandhu scheme. (UNI)
