Cong candidate attacked in Nagarkurnool, Sr Citizen dies

Hyderabad, Dec 7: Congress Candidate from Kalwakurthy Assembly Constituency CH Vamshichand Reddy was injured when he was allegedly attacked by BJP workers in Amangal Mandal of Nagarkurnool district on Friday.

The Congress candidate, when he was visiting the polling booth in Jangareddypalli, as the polling was under progress, was allegedly attacked by the BJP workers by pelting stones at him.

In a statement, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Uttam Kumar Reddy strongly condemned the attack on Vamshichand and demanded stern action against the guilty.

However, the BJP said, the Congress had already conceded defeat and that is the reason for their (Congress) leaders making allegations against the party.

Mr Reddy's statement against the BJP highlights the Congress biting dust in the election, BJP Chief Spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao said.

A senior citizen voter Narasimha, collapsed at Gundrampally polling station in Chityal of Nalgonda district. He breathed his last while being shifting to a hospital.

Mr Motkupalli Narsimhulu, an independent candidate from Aler constituency in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district complained of chest pain and was shifted to Hyderabad.

Congress candidate from Tandur Pilot Rohit Reddy, has lodged a complaint with the Tandur Town police alleging that a group of 40-50 unidentified persons reportedly TRS supporters, made a vain bid to attack him last night at a guest house in Inderched village of Basheerabad mandal in Vikarabad district.
