TRS asks EC to disqualify TDP candidate for threatening its Candidate

Hyderabad, Dec 3 : Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Monday urged the Election Commission to disqualify Congress alliance (People’s Front) TDP candidate Kuna Venkatesh for distributing money and threatening the Ruling party candidate.

Venkatesh is contesting against State caretaker Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav from Sanathnagar Assembly Constituency, which is a part of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency coming under the 15 constituencies in Hyderabad city in the December 7 election in Telangana.

A TRS team led by MLC Srinivas Reddy, Election Coordination Committee members M Ramesh Reddy, D Vithal and others, who called on Joint Chief Electoral Officer Amrapali at Secretariat here lodged a complaint against Venkatesh for violation of code at the behest of some Andhra leaders.

Later talking to media persons, the TRS leaders said that the Congress leaders are indulging in violating the poll code. We have submitted the proof of the complaint to the EC and sought immediate action.

The TRS leaders said that the Joint CEO has promised to take up the issue with Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar for necessasry action as per norms.(UNI)
