A tumultuous welcome was accorded to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on his arrival at the Begumpet Airport on a day's visit to the city on Friday.
On arrival by a special flight at the Airport, Shah was given a warm welcome by a large number of party leaders and cadre. He drove from the Airport to the state BJP office located near Mojahm jahi market near Nampally.
Mr Shah's visit, which assumes significance in the light of hectic speculation of simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and the state Assemblies, is mainly planned to interact with the Telangana BJP leaders and workers to gear up the party to put up a good show in the next elections.
He will be closeted with the with 107 vistaraks (persons who spread the message of the organisation) assigned for the Assembly constituencies and 17 Lok Sabha constituency incharges to ascertain from them where the party stood in the state.
The state party leaders will make a powerpoint presentation on the socio-political situation in the state, among other issues at the party's state office during Mr Shah's 12-hour visit.
According to the party sources, Shah will attend RSS Privar Baithak at a city hotel during the course of the day.As part of the party's Sampark Abhiyan, Shah will meet Eenadu-Ramoji Group Chairman Ch.Ramoji Rao and industrialist Srini Raju.
He will fly back to Delhi tonight at the end of his day's visit. (UNI)
