Eleven workers were burnt alive and five others injured when a massive fire broke out in a fire crackers manufacturing workshop near Kotilingala in Warangal district of Telangana on Wednesday.
Ten persons were killed on the spot, one succumbed while undergoing treatment at a hospital.The condition of three injured workers was stated to be serious.
In all, 25 people reported for work in the morning in the godown of the "Bhadrakali Fire Works". Expressing his grief over the tragedy, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs five lakh each to the families of the dead workers.
He asked the officials to ensure that the injured workers were provided proper treatment and assured that the government would help the victims' families in all possible ways. (UNI)
