Chennai, June 5 : The Admin building at the Chennai Airport complex would remain shut for three days from today, after two employees of Airports Authority of India (AAI) tested positive for coronavirus pandemic. A circular issued by AAI Deputy General Manager (HR) Vikas Mishra said it has come to the notice that two AAI employees of Operational Office at the airport have been tested positive for COVID-19. 'In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Directorate General of Health Serrvices, the Operational Offices Complex of Chennai Airport (Admin Building) will be closed from June 5 (today) to June seven', he said.
The entire office complex was handed over to a Committee formed to sanitise the premises. All the contacts of the COVID-19 positive staff were being identified for home quarantine. Those tested positive were an AAI driver and an official at the Electrical Maintenance Wing at Operational office and they were admitted to private hospitals for treatment. (UNI)
