Chennai, May 21 : The ONGC, Cauvery Basin, Chennai, under its CSR initiative, today handed over 2,500 sets of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Kits, amounting to Rs 14.47 lakhs to the Chennai City police. These kits would be given to the police personnel serving in corona containment areas, a release from ONGC said.
The kits were handed over to Greater Chennai City Police Commissioner A K Viswanathan by ONGC Cauvery Basin ED Dr K S Bhushan. Mr Viswanathan appreciated the ONGC’s initiative for lending a helping hand in this time of crisis. Each PPE kit contained one bottle each of Hand Sanitizer (500 ml) and hand wash (250 ml), two anti-bacterial soaps, five re-usable cotton masks, three pairs of hand gloves and a detergent soap (250 gms), in a fabric bag. Earlier, the ONGC extended financial support to the tune of Rs 9.59 lakh for providing PPE Kits to health/sanitary workers and disinfectant sprayer tanks to 11 Town Panchayats/Panchayats in suburban Chennai.
