Chennai, May 19 : Tamilnadu School Education Minister K A Sengottaiyan today announced that the tenth standard SSLC board exams was postponed to June 15 in view of the extension of the coronavirus lockdown till May 31. Talking to reporters after a meeting with Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at the State Secretariat, he said following representations from various quarters the exams which were scheduled to begin on June one were now postponed to June 15.
The exams will go on till June 25. According to the new timetable, the Language, English, Mathematics, Optional Language, Science, Social Science and Vocational exams will be held on June 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, 24 and 25 respectively. Several opposition parties, including the DMK have urged the state government not to conduct the exams in a hasty manner and sought postponement of the exams. (UNI)
