The Tamil Nadu Assembly adjourned sine die on Tuesday ahead of schedule in view of the complete lock-down in the State till month-end as prohibitory orders under Sec 144 came into force from 6 p.m .
Speaker P Dhanapal announced the curtailment of the session which was originally expected to go on till the first week of April.
Chief Minister, who rejected the repeated plea of Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin for early adjournment in view of the medical emergency, finally gave in after announcing the lockdown.+
Earlier, the Chief Minister launched through a video conference in the State Secretariat a special application to take distress calls from those in home confinement.
The Chief Minister appealed to take the threat of the epidemic seriously and cooperate by staying at home.
He said this app would keep track of those who had returned from abroad and are in home quarantine.
