Tamil Nadu has reported its third Covid 19 positive case, a 21-year-old Chennai resident who returned from Dublin, Ireland, via Abu Dhabi on March 17.
Health Minister C Vijayabaskar told reporters that the youth, who was studying in Dublin, had been admitted to the isolation ward in Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. When he arrived he was asymptomatic. However on reaching home he got fever and cold and got himself admitted. He is now stable and all his friends and relatives have been traced.
Barely a few days, a second case was admitted to the GH, a 20-year-old man from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh who came by train from New Delhi. Seven of his close contacts have been quarantined.
Vijayabaskar, who visited the domestic terminal at Chennai airport on Friday, said that from now on, even domestic passengers, especially those coming from Maharashtra and Kerala,, would be screened.
