Stalin urges Jaishankar to ensure safe return of Indians stranded in Japanese ship

Chennai, Feb 12 : DMK President M K Stalin today requested External Affairs Minister Jai Shankar to immediately intervene and ensure safe return of the Indian employees from the Japanese Cruise Ship “Diamond Princess” docked at Yokohama Harbor, Japan, for the past nine days.

In a letter to Mr Jaishankar, he said passengers in the Japanese cruise ship were not allowed to leave as 60 of the 3,500 on board were said to be affected by coronavirus. Among these passengers was Anbazhagan, a native of Nagamalai Pudukkottai, Madurai, who was employed in the ship. He has sent a message to his friends through his WhatsApp, that about 100 Indians were working in the ship out of whom six were from Tamil Nadu.
